Bank of FloridaAt Bank of Florida, excellence---in every product created and delivered and service we render is a strong commitment we fulfill. Excellence anchored on progress and development is an eternal pledge we have vowed to keep.

By adhering to the highest standards of banking ethics, good corporate governance, human capital development and technological innovation, the bank continues to grow at a steady pace. It has achieved historic milestones, marks born from its unwavering pursuit of excellence in service.

For more than four decades, this quest has driven the bank to the top and has earned the recognition of the rural banking community.

From a pool of more than 700 rural banks in the country, the bank ranked 22nd in 1994, but by 1997, the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) had the bank in its roster of the Top 15 Rural Banks nationwide. And in a countrywide survey of rural banks conducted by the Land Bank of the Philippines in 1995, Bank of Florida was cited as one of the industry leaders in branch networking; agricultural and industrial development through financial grants provision; accounts acquisition; corporate modernization; and internal and external expansion.

Then in 1996, the bank emerged Number One in Paid-up Capital in PDIC’s listing of Central Luzon’s 100 rural banks.
But bottomlines are not all the measures of excellence for the bank. On August 26, 2003, a ten-man study group from Bolivia composed of bankers, microfinance specialists and fund management professionals benchmarked the bank’s best practices in deposits generation, savings mobilization, loan products marketing, liquidity management, cost pricing and human resource development. Bank of Florida was one of the choices from a few recommended by the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP), the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Microfinance Access to Business Services (MABS) for the Bolivia-Philippines-Indonesia Microfinance Exchange Program.

As a prime mover in the rural banking industry, the bank has highly regarded leadership as a mark of excellence. Simultaneously from July 2006 to June 2007, Bank of Florida President and Chief Executive Officer Teresa David-Carlos and Special Assistant to the President Susan David-Nunga took the helm as Presidents of the Confederation of Central Luzon Rural Banks, Inc. (CCLRB) and the Pampanga Federation of Rural Banks (PFRB) respectively.

On July 24, 2007 bank President and CEO Teresa David-Carlos was elected Chairman of the Pampanga Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council (PSMEDC), while continuing to serve as a Director, Auditor and Head of the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham)’s Business Promotions Group.

Then on October 8, 2007, the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) honored bank President and Chief Executive Officer Teresa David-Carlos as one of Pampanga’s Most Inspiring Entrepreneurs. The PCE cited the bank for helping and assisting Small and Medium Entrepreneurs.

Following this leadership distinction was an acclaim to service excellence when the San Fernando (Pampanga) Branch of the Social Security System (SSS) awarded Bank of Florida as one of its Best Participating Financial Institutions during its “Araw ng mga Kabalikat ng SSS” Golden Anniversary Commemoration on October 11, 2007. The SSS citation of the bank was clear-cut: “For Bank of Florida’s genuine concern for SSS members.”

After becoming a Billion Peso bank in terms of resources, Bank of Florida’s commitment to excellence was well-capped in 2007: in its ranking on assets among the country’s 742 rural banks, the PDIC listed Bank of Florida as 2nd in Pampanga, 4th in Region III and 20th nationwide.

For Bank of Florida, this is excellence at work. This is a promise kept. This is a commitment fulfilled.
