Rural Bank of Victorias (Negros Occidental), Inc. was a family owned and managed corporation organized in 1961 in Victorias, Negros Occidental with a start-up capital of P1,000,000.00.

In November 1993, a new set of owners took over the bank. Five family groups comprised the controlling ownership with not one group owning more than 23%. The new set of stockholders infused P5,000,000.00 on fresh capital.

In 1994, another increase in capitalization was approved by the Securities & Exchange Commission. Authorized capital was now at P20,000,000.00 divided into 140,000 shares of Common Stock and 60,000 shares of Preferred Stock both at a par value of P100.00 each. An entirely new set of Board of Directors and operating management was put in place with the bank renamed “ New Rural Bank of Victorias, Inc .” and adapted “ Bank Victorias ” as its trade name.

Under the new management, four more branches were opened: Bacolod Branch in September 1996, Kabankalan Branch in November 1996, San Carlos Branch in February 1997 and Iloilo Branch in March 1997.

At present, the bank is looking forward to becoming a more focused financial institution in terms of lending specifically Microfinance and SME lending. It will set up its Loan Collections & Disbursements Points around the region. The Escalante LCDP is now in place and it is also in the process of putting up LCDP's in La Carlota and Binalbagan, Negros Occidental. This is in line with the bank's vision of providing a sustainable financial assistance to the communities where Bank Victorias is located.
